I just acquired my first 58 Imperial (with the claim of 44k orig. miles). I had to clean some plugs to get it running and couldn't help notice the oily sludge sitting in the sparkplug recess'. Is there a recommended practice for cleaning or flushing and old engine that may not ever seen detergent oil? Also, I was told when I bought it that it was a Crown but looking at several pictures and brochures, I'm not sure. Is there a definitive way to tell? >From: "Hugh & Therese" <hugtrees@xxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subject: IML: WELCOME Dave Ford (1958) >Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 22:00:38 -0600 > >Subject: IML: Please WELCOME Dave Ford (1958) > > > > Car(s) owned: 1958 Crown Sedan > > > > Self-Introduction: Self employed automobile noise and vibe >engineer/analyst > > Also have 1965 AC Cobra Replica, 1966 Elcamino (454), 86 Fiero GT > >Welcome indeed, Dave. > >There are a respectable amount of 1958 owners on the list although not all >of us are very respectable.
