Just for clarification on ABS and rear disc brakes in Imperials . . . The four wheel Sure Brake ABS system was introduced on the Imperial in 1971, and was used through 1973. It was also available on large Chryslers. The rear disc brakes were used ONLY on Imperial and ONLY for 1974 and 1975. The message below suggests that an Imperial might have had both of these items. However, due to the hardware used in the Sure Brake system, it simply was not possible for Sure Brake to be used in conjunction with rear disc brakes. Also note that both systems worked VERY well. :o) Imperial's Sure Brake was the first time an American car was equipped with a *four* wheel ABS system.
