On my 82, I replaced the receiver dryer and I'm having trouble with leaks at the connection on both sides. Used for years, these connectors have a single stud on each side of the receiver/dryer for fastening the connection. New gaskets, of course. On my other Mopars, the connectors are flat to the sides of the receiver/dryer; on this car, the connectors are pulled slightly toward the stud side of the connection allowing some gap at the tubing side of the flange. I'm considering placing a small piece of gasket material under the stud side as a shim to even things out but I know this was never in the design of the components. Does anyone have any advice on how to make a tight connection?
