Hasn't anyone heard of Meguirs products??? I have tried to convert totally to them and am trying to use up the 3-M stuff I got earlier by using on poorer applications. One of the wonderful things about Meguirs is that you can paint right over the polish if you have a problem. I have a black 64 with mostly original paint yet which I couldn't seem to get past the marks on also. Was driving me crazy and when talking to local body man friend he mentioned hand finishing with corn starch if it still showed when waxed. I normally don't wax my cars but decided to do it on the 64 and the swirl marks disappeared immediately without using the corn starch. May have to start waxing cars I guess!! Hope they are still gone when the snow leaves!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clay Smith" <clay-deb@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, February 15, 2003 9:15 AM Subject: Re: IML: 60 imperial paint/brining back a shine Would this air buffer and foam pad be something that Harbor Freight would sell? I had resigned myself to attempting to polish the paint by hand. It seems that most cars that I have seen "buffed" by machine have terrible swirl marks when the paint is looked at in sunlight. It removes 1000 grit sanding scratches and leaves a high polish ready for wax. I use an air buffer with a foam pad.. This is the product I'll be using when I color sand the 300 later in the paint saga. KerryP
