Re: Flywheel

In my limited experience with Mopars, I believe for the external balanc the harmonic balancer has a notch out of the inside and the flex plate has a strip of wieght near the ring (starter ) gear. Maybe someone can confirm this....................MO....sw iowa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Knud-Erik Holm" <kebh@xxxxx>

It does have the flexplate and balancer on still. So if it has weight add or
subtr. It is external balanced right? And if it does not, it is internally
balanced!

I am not sure about your engine, but you sholdn't need to take your crank
out to tell if external or internal balance. If it has the flexplate for an

auto tranny , or the harmonic balancer still attached, they will have weight

addition or subtraction on them...................MO.......sw iowa

Thanks for the reply, I should have specified year, my mistake.

I need to take the crankshaft out to figure if its internal or external
balanced. Before I make any decisions.

Don't take it from me, you could need either. There's no way to know what
you have or what someone might have swapped on there over the course of
the
last 35 years without checking part numbers or doing some measuring.
