Re: vinyl top option

I don't think there would be any problem with interior leakage unless around the trim strip where edge of vinyl meets rear quarter panes( holes for clips.) These tops were glued on to a painted top. In many years of outdoor rain exposeure, I have seen many form rust under the vinyl. I don't think that would happen on a daily garaged car......................MO......sw iowa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wayne Huseby" <wchuseby@xxxxxxxxxx>

Subject: vinyl top option

Were vinyl tops a factory or dealer installed option on 64 polara 2 dr
hardtops? I did see an advertisement with the vinyl top prices
($69)from 1964. i very seldom see any pictures with cars with a vinyl
top.
Also, any pros and/or cons in regards to installation and issues with
vinyl tops such as leakage, moisture rusting away the roof, etc.
thanks in advance.
