RE: [Chrysler300] 300H valve adjustment

I use a 1 5/16" socket and a long ratchet on the dampener bolt, For reference I mark the opposite side of the dampener timing mark. The procedure insures that you are on the base circle of the camshaft.

Rick,
Great idea! Exactly  how do you turn the engine mechanically and position it so can you get to the right position?
I couldn't see a way to do that, and I was always overshooting or undershooting with the starter, which is why I went back to the shop manual.

Come on guys...These aren't tractors or Chevys with friction adjuster gear.  Your on seat spring load is in excess of 80 pounds. makes spoons of mild steel feeler gauges. warm up the engine and remove the valve covers. Set the mechanical valve lash. Turn crank mechanically to cylinder 1 TDC adjust intake #2 & #7 exhaust #4 & #8 rotate crank 180 degrees clockwise adjust intake #1 & #8  exhaust #3 & #6 rotate 180 CW intake #3 & #4 exhaust #5 & #7 180CW intake #5 & #6 exhaust #1 & #2. easier that it reads, works great The Chrysler recommended procedure.
