Maybe it's time again to remind folks what it takes to keep this club functioning. Manuel Alvarez, who has a regular job, a growing family and a full life without us, has to haul his butt out of bed in the middle of the night to tend to the IML server when something goes down, as it did last night and all morning today. If you want to see what this guy goes through for us, take a look at http://www.dte.net/systemnews.htm2 and read the system news for the last few months. For those of you who don't know this, all his efforts are donated, including a lot of personal expense to buy software, Internet access, and hardware. He does this out of his love for Imperials (he has a '55) and just because he is an all around good guy. Manuel is not a wealthy guy, and will never be, the way he is going! Something like this happens about every 3 or 4 weeks on average, and every time it does, one and only one guy works through the night to get us up and running again - you guessed it, it's Manny! So it's time to mention that a donation of $5, $10, $20, or whatever you think this club is worth to you is long overdue! Send something to: > > Manuel Alvarez > dte.net > PO BOX 27 > Montclair, CA 91763 We used to have a regular reminder and a person who collected the donations for forwarding to Manny, but this process broke down when that person left the list. Now we have to remind ourselves. Thanks! Dick Benjamin (no, no one asked me to send this out; I'm just a grateful peon, just like you are). Subject: Re: No IML mail
