Imperial-speak

For the new folks on the IML, here are some clarifications:

Newport - refers to hardtops (2-dr and 4-dr) from 1955-1956
Southampton - refers to hardtops (2-dr and 4-dr) from 1957-1963 [Therefore:
Chrysler Imperial Crown (perhaps Southhampton) Convertible doesn't exist.]
(As a matter of fact, "Chrysler" should be omitted when refering to 1955 -
1983 Imperials. You wouldn't call a Polara a "Chrysler Dodge Polara,"
right?)

Also, all Imperial convertibles were Crowns. In this case "Crown" follows
"Imperial" (i.e. Imperial Crown). "Crown Imperials" from 1955 to 1965 were
limousines.

Imperial Le Barons were produced from 1955 - 1975 (21 model years).
Chrysler Le Barons were produced from 1977 - 1997 (21 model years).

Imperials were "D" bodies.
