I'm wondering, if you couldn't just sand blast or grind out the corroded area, then mig weld up the corroded areas with aluminum wire? Then once you have it built up, then grind and sand, finally polishing back down smooth, send them out and have the bumpers rechromed? A bit of a pain in the keister, but better than tossing a part that is usually made out of unobtainium in the scrap heap. I expect any you find in salvage yards will be in the same shape, if not worse. May be worth a try.. PS: be sure to wear eye and lung protection when grinding, that aluminum dust is nasty. and if you get a sliver of aluminum in your eye, you can't get it out with a magnet like when porting cylinder heads either, no fun!
