IML: Help needed: 1955 Imperial

Hi-

I need some help!

Over the last 6 months I have been working on fixing and detailing my ’55 Imperial.  I spent 10 hours last weekend with a buddy putting the intake, generator, power steering pump and new wires back on my ’55.  The problem arises in that I cannot remember where all the wires from the regulator go to.  I know one is to the coil and two go to the field and armature post on the generator.  But I have a third small wire and I just cannot remember where it goes to.  Also, there is a small capacitor sitting on top of the generator with one wire coming out of it.   To which post on the generator does this go?

Unfortunately, this was one of the things I did not document in my haste to take these pieces off.  I looked in the shop manual and that is of no help.  I am hoping that some fellow ’55 owners might be able to provide me with some guidance.  The pictures of the ‘55 Imperials on the IML website are clear, but I cannot tell- with confidence- where those wires go.

Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance. I can be contacted off-list at:  jtpoltrock@xxxxxxx
