In my opinion this means that it is a 8 ohm speaker, only a 8 ohm speaker
will be ok if the endstage was designed for a 4 ohm load (it will sound
not as loud as a 4 ohm however).

A 4 ohm speaker will harm an endstage that was designed for a 8 ohm load.

If a speaker is both allright for a 4 and 8 ohm endstage then that can
only be the case if the speaker is 8 ohm.
