Re: IML: 65 Crown Speakers: 4/8 OHM FOLLOW UP Question

You can use an 8 ohm speaker in a 4 ohm application so an 8 ohm speaker is 4 ohm compatible. If the label is correct, it would have to be about an 8 ohm speaker to be compatible with both resistances (4 and 8 ohm).

BTW most home speakers are 8 ohm while most car speakers are 4 ohm.  Do you have any old home speakers sitting around thay you could pull a driver from?

THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my speaker OHM
post!

A follow-up question: I found a replacement for my
rear 6x9" speaker. The impedence spec on the pack of
the package says:

"4-8 OHM Compatible"

Once again the spec on my stock radio (Mopar model
367) calls for an 8 OHM speaker. I don't understand
how one speaker could be OK for both 4 and 8 OHM but
there it is.

Any thoughts???

Thanks again...
