Actually coker purchases their old molds that DOT has deemed worn out and has a company in Central America use them to make their knock off tires.  I bought a set of coker tires BFG wide white walls that came apart like cheep recaps with 11/32 tread left on them.  They have a good warranty on paper but have 100 excuses to get around it.  My tires had less than 1/32 of wear and inflated with nitrogen and pressure checked three to four times a year but were about two years old and according to coker have exceeded there life expectancy.  I have been corresponding back and forth with coker for five months with letters from Costco that serviced my tires and two letters from BFG & an independent tire inspector stating they were manufacture defects, with nothing but a runaround from coker.  They have agreed to give me twenty dollars toward the cost of replacing four of the five tires I purchased.  They are claiming the fifth tire or spare tire is good and they cant do anything about it till it fails even thou its from the same run as the other four defective tires.   The BFG rep and the independent rep both confirmed the fact about coker getting old tire molds.  They both told me that the molds were usable but the DOT has deemed molds can make just so many tires before the quality is compromised and need to be replaced in the USA.  No other country has as high a standard as we do so that's why coker has all their tires made out of country.

In the meantime a friend with a set of Diamondback tires had a bad tire that was five years old and 8/32 tread left and with in a weeks time DB replaced it and told him to keep the replaced tire for a spare or damage the bead so it cannot be reused, and dispose of the tire.

When I bought the coker tires everyone told Me I made a mistake and I defended them for almost two years till what happened to me was just what all my friends said was going to happen.  Yes, I am eating a lot of crow and getting a lot of I Told You Sos.  I highly recommend to anyone looking at tires stay as far away from coker repops as you can.  Take a look at Diamondback tires, they stand behind their tires and run a little cheaper than coker.  All my car buddies use nothing but DB tires.  Or if you have a trailer queen it wont matter.

Sorry about being long winded but if I can keep someone from making the same costly mistake as I did it will be worth it.  I just wish I had researched their tires better as I find story after story the same as mine on several websites.

Ha, I don't remember the brand. Not Coker though. Oldies. Armstrong perhaps?

Is it the actual Coker brand tires you don't like? or do you include the repro tires they make under license to other brands, like BF Goodrich T/A with raised white letters?

Thanks,
Gary H.
