Re: Tranny Fluid

Glad to be of help, Enzo.  I use synthetic but it is $10 a qt.  I also use synthetic oil in my engine with a 16 oz. can of Hughs oil additive as I run a solid lifter flat-tappet cam.   I also had my engine bearings CT-2 coated as an insurance policy in case I lose oil pressure.  Plus a Dvorak one-way screen and crank scraper instead of a windage tray.  Dan swears that if you throw a rod, it will not puncture the oil pan and leave oil all over a race track.  That one-way screen is strong.  The crank scraper has to be fitted by a pro engine builder or someone with a lot of patience.  You have to keep putting it on, marking what you want to remove with a marker and fit it on again.  When you have .010 clearance around the whole crank scraper you are done.

When I change oil in my car I'm going to put Slick 50 or some other additive to it.  You can run a car for at least 20 miles with no oil at all in your engine.  Cheap insurance and you only have to do it once for the life of your engine.

Don't be afraid of the trans-go.  I would bet some of the people bad-mouthing would have a different opinion of the trans-go kit if I could take them for a ride in my car.  I wouldn't be in the least surprised if one of them went for a ride with me and said, "That trans shifts better than mine does".  Let them eat crow, my friend.  Trans-go has a hotline so if someone is putting one of their kits in your trans and has any trouble, all they have to do is call the hotline for help.

Enzo,

A lot of people think these are the best kits made.  Whoever puts a trans-go kit in your trans needs to have some experience with them.  Although my trans still leaks a little (a pint in 10 days) the car shifts hard.  The kit is good, its the people installing the kit who don't know what they are doing.  That spool that looks like an empty spool of thread must have only one side cut off, not both sides like the kit says.

The thing I like best is I can get good shifts and don't have to shift by hand if I leave it in "Drive".  Most of the other kits, to get any good shifts you have to use a manual trans body.  You pay your money and you take your choice.

All this talk about how great everyone's trans works is just trash talking on me.  I think some people are jealous because they KNOW that my car is faster than their car is.  Otherwise why all the negative comments about what I said?

They wouldn't talk shit on me if they were standing in front of me, that's for sure.
