MO, There are a few different types of spring compressors available - the generic screw type requires a lot of twisting that's hard on fingers. Mancini has a lever type that requires bolting the rocker shaft on for each valve, but works well. A 62-65 guy - I can't remember his last name right now but I think his first was Mike, had a nice '64 Sport Fury IIRC - developed a really nice one a few years back. It's available from Mancini - a little pricey but well worth the price if you're going to do it more than once. It can be used on the engine, without removing the stamped rockers (not sure about others). Has a screw to crank the spring down that can be run with an impact wrench or cordless driver.
