The air cleaner, valve covers, breather and PCV cover were all chrome on a
426
wedge. Battery cables were black. Max Wedges covers were orange no matter
what
year. I will send a very clear photo of a highly detailed 426 in a 64 Savoy
for
you to look at. The only difference in on the street wedge engines was the
throttle cable bracket. It was different for a 4 speed then an auto.
Everything
else was the same and I never found any difference between 64 and 65
neither.
Akron Don would know better , but I am pretty sure.

chrome or the same turquoise paint as the engine. I think the air cleaner
top
was chrome. What about the earlier max wedges? Were the rocker covers
chromed or
painted?

more subtle and streetable. Plans are to change the A990 single headlight
grill
and hood with scoop to stockers, keeping the mini-tubs and big tires, as
well as
the deep oil pan, but, I've already changed the headers to '68-'69
manifolds,
repainted the engine the proper turquoise, and I am putting the battery
back to
the stock position under the hood and removing the remote battery switch
from
the rear of the car. By the way, what color were the stock battery cables?
