Re: SS Spring thing




You undid everything you paid the extra money for the SS springs for!  The
whole object of the SS springs and especially the main leaf, is the short &
stiff spring.  It keeps the differential pinion from wrapping-up causing
u-joint misalignment and wheel hop or loss of traction.  Also don't forget
the pinion snubber.  Just my $0.02

here is what i did on my '64 fury.  i ordered a set of 456/457 (3400#)
SS springs.  i then took my original springs apart and kept the main
spring (the one with the pin and eyes for the bushings) and put the SS
leafs (minus the SS main spring) on the original main spring.
everything fit like it came from the factory with the added benefit of
the SS springs.
or you can put on the front hanger extensions.
