Don't get me started on why there is nothing for Mopars, and why it cost
so much to buy a Mopar part.
If your not careful when building a big Mopar, you will paint yourself
into the expensive part corner. I
just had J&E quote me $1100.00 for a stroker set of pistons. It was
beginning to look like the only option
until I found someone making 55 over Chevy-Mopar pistons with a dome
stock off the shelf. So I am now
forced to run an odd ball oversize (for Mopar) just to get a reasonably
priced piston. Don't get me started
on good roller rocker prices, way more for a Mopar set, heck the corner
7-11 sells roller rockers for chevys
and they are cheap.....

I think you could take a Victor manifold, put any large throttle body on
it, poke a few injectors in the runners,
adapt some fuel rails, or build some, buy an aftermarket brain, and have
injection for a reasonable cost.
I just want to wait for someone else to work out all the mapping issues.
I went through that with my SS Impala.
(Don't throw rocks). I bought the software, plugged in the lap top, and
started playing with the map. The
more I messed with it, the slower it went. So I got a map from some guys
who had worked it out, and
whamo - she ran like a scalded cat. I just remember all that frustration
of messing with it for days and
getting no where. I CAN tune a Holley in a day, even if Bubba had been
playing with it.

Now on the cool side, I found a 392 this weekend. I just need something
to put it in. I think I can hear
the whine of a blower in the back of my mind.

I have always wondered why so few Mopars are set up with fuel injection?
I've seen the blue oval and bow tie boys using them for years at the car
shows. I've only seen a couple FI equipped older Mopars.
I've always been interested to try it and I'm finding this thread to
be an interesting read. I can only assume that if we hang in there long
enough, these parts will become much cheaper, (much like 50 mHz
computers, which I believe sold new for $5K + about 10 years ago). But,
like many of you, I'm still more comfortable tweaking on my good ol'
Carter AFB!!!

Dave,

There are more and more of these coming on the market. When I was at
SEMA this year I saw several of them. In fact I think Holly is making
one for a BR Mopar. Not sure about that, but I think I remember talking
to someone in their booth that said they were working on it. It is for
sure the way to go.

I'm working on my own EFI swap with a standard multiport sequential
system. I am not using Hilborn's though, I'm using a plain old
Offenhauser aluminum 4 bbl intake with a throttle body instead of a
carburetor. I hope to have it running and driving this winter and finish
the fine tuning by next summer. This is not an $8,000 investment, but I
am doing almost everything myself. It should come out under $4,000
easily, plus my time.
