My cousin's F Coupe is in the body shop getting a minor makeover in time for Spring. He crunched the right front (passenger) fender last summer, so that's being repaired, along with a couple other small rust areas. His comment was that the car, originally from CA, is remarkably solid and rust free, even though it's been here in Chicago for a number of years. This car has 2 small (~3/8"?) v-shaped notches at the top of the rear body panel from where the panel is visible when the trunk lid is closed. It looks like they're to provide for the water to drain from around the trunk, as well as the trunk-wheel drain tube, and not just sit on the flat area just outside the weatherstripping. These notches are located about 12"-15" or so outboard from center. I don't recall seeing these notches on any other '60s - 300s, NYers, etc., and yet our restorer says that these notches look to be molded into the metal as it was formed. Have any of you seen this? Did Chrysler manufacture two iterations of this? Second question is that we're having trouble locating a new chrome headlight bezel trim piece that goes around the headlights. If anyone has one that they'd like to sell, please contact me directly. Thanks for your help.
