[Chrysler300] Danger of wheel failure unless the rims are replaced by str...

I have been following the discussions about old wheels v. new wheels and
radial tires v. bias tires, etc. I had a 1968 Plymouth station wagon that
always had bias tires on it. I am assuming that 1968 had the better wheels,
but correct me if I am wrong. While we were on a vacation with three kids,
a German Shepherd, camping equipment, etc,, but not towing a trailer, one of
the rear wheels separated just inside of the tire bead. The car had about
80K miles on it at the time. So, I went to the nearest boneyard and got a
used wheel. I never thought much more about it until the current
discussion. That is the only wheel failure that I ever had and it was with
bias tires, not radial.

Best regards,

Jim in Illinois
