RE: [Chrysler300] Subject: Treating rust in window channels

Regarding front and rear glass replacement in general, when rust exists in
the gasket channel, what is the list consensus for the best way to treat it?
I know of four typical methods:

1) Derust using a oxalic acid or a product that contains it like naval jelly
, then prime and paint.

2) Paint over rust using POR 15 paint or equivalent

3) Use a rust converter like Rust Mort or Permatex RT-8A Rust Treatment that
converts the rust to a black like primer coating.

4) Sandblast, prime and paint

I have used all of the above methods to prep rusted steel for paint, but am
curious as to what others feel is best for window channels.
