[Chrysler300] heater core removal question

Hello All,

I'm in the process of my first heater core removal on my 66 non-letter 300 (413, no AC), and I had a rather basic question.

I have the old shop manual and have found it more than satisfactory for most repairs I've had to make in the 10 years or so I've had the car. But for this one I'm a little confused. Under the heater removal section, instruction 3 reads:

"From under instrument panel remove bracket from top of heater to dash panel."

Does that mean I have to pull off the instrument panel/dash board? And if so, does anyone have any idea where to start with that?

And if not, is there some trick I'm missing here. I can't see how you'd get to the bracket at the top of the heater without pulling off the dash.

...and oh, if anyone has any good ideas about how to get the coolant out of my carpets (and the 40 year-old stuffing underneath), I'd be more than obligded.

As always, thanks a million for the help. Without you guys, I couldn't have kept her running all these years.

Cheers,
Jonathan
