Re: [Chrysler300] '63 Chrysler-Odometer reset procedure?

Greetings Group-
Beware of both Federal laws and any state laws where you live before you
change the setting on ANY odometer. While you may have good reason or what
might be perfectly innocent in your mind might get you into deep legal
trouble. In Montana where I live older vehicles are exempt from odometer
statements but you can still be sued in a civil trial (now there is an
oxymoron if I have ever heard one) and forced to defend yourself at a
considerable expense. If you feel the need to change the odometer reading,
DOCUMENT what you do and why with photos or even video, it could save you a
large head ache and legal bill later. Always disclose what you did and why
( when you decide to sell the car) and have the buyer sign a statement that
they know and waive any legal recourse. It may or may not hold up in court
but at least you can prove they knew prior to buying the car.
