     for what little it is worth, i agree with warren almost completely.
the almost crops up with a little rather inexpensive tool that i fell
into lo many years ago, and it is available again, saw an add for it i
dont know where, recently. its called a ''colortune'' spark plug and it
is a plug with a glass insulator with a flat end that you put in and
observe the color of the actual flame that is produced in the engine by
combustion.. white is lean reddish orange is rich and light blue or even
a dark blue though light is better, is correct mixture.
        it is invaluable for telling you just which cyl is rich or lean
or on ram quads, which carb is what. i cant recommend it too highly, its
just great and doesnt cost lots, no floorspace taken up and works on all
engines, great for picking out a bad injector too..
