[Chrysler300] Q. re using Vane tuner re 300s?

I have a query re people's experiences of using 60s-70s Vane Tune Machines
to try and get their 300s set up right, in best tune.

A friend who had a garage has a Vane 3090 Tune Machine - oscilliscope, and
about another 8 guages set into a large metal cabinet atop sortod storage
cabinet on wheels - it ibncludes exhuast analyzler etc.

I intended to use this on my 300Cs, and other sixties early 70s cars.
However speaking to a racer from the period, he said they work OK when no
problems, but he found them no good when he had many types of problems. The
guy is a good old school trouble shooter type, and was also very successful.

Help please, do I say 'no' to the Vane, or are there tricks re using them,
beating any gremlins? Those of you who do not know what I am talking about -
lots of 60s-70s magazine adverts often showed these type of machines in
shots of performance cars being tuned in garages.

Thanks to any that can help - looking forward to some good aussie 300
motoring/punting over xmas. My 300 goes good, bloody good, but thought
putting it on one of these may make it go even better - experiences please?
