As most of the replies have stated, power washing would be OK. The trick here is, as with most new procedures, use caution. Start slowly, with the spray a foot or more away and see what happens, If that seems to get the muck and mung off, continue. If it still leaves some, get closer, keeping in mind that the closer, the stronger the blast. also do it straight on rather than at an angle, as angling will tend to shear off/get under, the undercoat.
