Hi Lou, First, you do not mention whether your 3:31 is a Sure-Grip, or an open rear. Actually, makes little difference; the only thing out there, for that ratio, is junkyard. Vibrations are a bummer. Most obvious culprit would be the front trunion joint on the driveshaft . Next would be the rear u-joint. Have you tried Randy's Gear and Pinion? http://www.ring-pinion.com/ ; they can probably rebuild your 3:31 . I would suggest replacing the rear with a 3:23; the difference in ratio is slight and the difference, as far as speedo, will probably be negligible. The thing is, it doesn't look like you can get the 3.31 ratio that my car currently has (and I'd rather not have to pick another ratio and then deal with the speedometer gearing issue). > > Does anyone know where I could get a "new" 3.31 rear assembly (in the event that I need one)? If I am going to get into this thing, I just as soon go new if possible. I've tried some retail sites like summit, jegs, etc, and precision gear, motive gear, and richmodn gear's web sites....no 3.31 ring and pinions even available. > > Regards, > Lou >
