Re: [FWDLK] FLook AM to AM/FM radio conversion. Who's done it?

James,
I will be getting into the business of converting AM factory radios to have input jacks for portable CD players after Xmas. I will be working on Roger Howard radio in a week doing the conversion. I am doing this as a side job. I will offer my services to all list members after the holidays one at a time. If your interested, let me know. By the way, you can get CD players now that have FM radios built into them. Your speaker should be 3.2 ohms. I would have a factory original reconed. I will reprint all conversions details if enough people are interested. Take Care
Frank

I understand that our original AM radios can be converted to receive AM and FM. Has anyone done this? Does it work well? Where is the switch located that switches one to the other?

Also, does anyone understand the relationship between the ohms rating of the speaker and the radio?? I know that any general speaker will work, but I thought I read somewhere that there is a relationship between the two and to keep that in mind when doing anything with a speaker. I am debating between having the original speaker redone or just going out a getting a new 5X7 speaker.

Thoughts?
