Hi Glenn & All,
In 1956 the California license plates went from the very wide yellow on
black plates to the much narrower(horizontally) black on yellow plates.  So
in Hollywood, CA in 1957, if you purchased a new Fury, you would soon get
the Yellow plates with black numbers/letters.  By the way, these plates were
the same size as the "famous" Black Plates that came out in 1962 or 63 (if
you need the exact year, will go out on my back deck and check the plates
hanging on my deck cover).
