Mark,

Something of a guess here.
I know the '57 Chrysler 300Cs all came with heavy duty (1 extra
leaf) springs and yes they are sturdier / stiffer.
The '57 DeSoto Adventurer did not come with HD springs but they
were sometimes ordered that way.
The '57 Dodge D-500 could also be ordered with HD springs.
So, I expect the '57 Fury came with standard 2dr hardtop springs
but could also be ordered with HD springs.  Apparently your car
has them.
If you have some literature that shows that ALL '57 Furys came
with HD springs (and torsion bars) I'd appreciate hearing back
from you.
