Hello My friend told me about your new mailing list and I wanted to join, because I have been an Exner-era Mopar fan since 1979-80, when I was a teenager. During this time someone had a 1957 DeSoto Fireflite in my home town and I became crazy about it. Then was also big BOOM for old U.S. cars in Scandinavia too. I own a 1961 DeSoto 2-Dr. Hardtop and it's in condition #2. It's a quite rare car, since only 911 were built. The history books says that this DeSoto is less attractive (especially front end), but I find it's a GORGEOUS car! I bought it from Nebraska in 1990 and I used to hard work (many hundreds of hours) to restore it back to its former glory. The guy from I bought the car, was purchased it in 1986 from salvage yard in Montana. The car was bought new in Montana from Havre Motors, Inc., Havre, MT. My DeSoto has white body with red/black interior. It has PS, PB, dual mirrors/antennas/exhausts, tinted w-shield, deluxe steering wheel, radio, clock, prismatic mirror, WWWs, etc. I am a member of National DeSoto Club, Inc. since its first year (86) and I have 155 different 1955-62 MoPar SALES BROCHURES in my collection among other literature. I can create lists of those brochures, if someone wants to see them. Mark Lonngren Finland |
