Ditto with my 56 Plymouth, they be weak so it seems, since the hood has been opened a zillion times. For the last 8 years I have carried a nice ole piece of wood lath (3/8 x 1 inches ) about 32 inches long, it sits parellel to the radiator top, just in front on that nice metal shelf for tools Chrysler has kindly provided. It does not rattle, and has not strayed in many miles. It is officiclly stenciled offishul hood prop rod on each side of it, lest anyone wonder. Since I do not show my car for judging, for fun only, It is used in shows when I dispay with hood open. Also, ones' photo display can be made of an approprite size so it fits on that nice shelf and also contacts the inside at the hood latch area, which is the most professional looking solution other than new unobtainable hinges or such.
