It's time to get the flathead rebuilt, and I've lined up a shop to do it.
I've dropped the driveshaft and the transmission, now it's time to strip
down the block and yank it. I've never done it before -- here are some
questions I have:
1) Is it sufficient to pull just the radiator, or should I also remove the
sheet metal it's mounted to? (Of course I'll remove the hood!)
2) What bolts should I attach the chain to?
3) The car is in a garage, with a good cross beam above. Will a decent
cinch pull this block, or should I go with a cherry picker?
4) What should I do with the block once it's out -- rest it on it's side?
Will the oil pan support the weight?
5) Removing the manifolds! I expect to snap bolts. Please advise...
Any other words of wisdom, about things I haven't thought about?
