i wouldnt trust turning down an out of round tire,  they were true (hopefully)
to start with, by shaving a high spot, you sacrifice the structural integrity
of the thread (thickness),  and as a former machinist, i dont think this type
of lathe can be accurate due to deflection of a flexible surface under
cutting.

so, i'd pass if i found one, it's probably cheaper to buy radials than a wheel
lathe!!
