I am begining have to think real seriously about paint. I will have
someone who knows what he's doing ( still looking for that someone) paint my '60 next summer. Anyway everyone keeps singing the praises of basecoat/clearcoat around here, I don't like the too shinny/plastic look on most. BUT, I have been told that that guy who reeaallllyy knows what he is doing can adjust the clearcoat to match the original lacquer etc. Any truth to this or is this just someones "in a perfect world it could be true". Also one of the "Older Paint Guys" told me that the deep colors , like,
burgundy metalic, were white primedbecause they were semi
transparent and then clear coated back in 60. Again, any truth?
