Quoting "Woolf,Richard T(Contractor)" <richard.woolf@xxxxxxxxxxxx>: > I agree using a single weight oil. I use SAE30W in all of my old cars, > except my hot rods which I use 40 weight. Never had an oil related problem. And you never will. The "oil related" problems will happen very long term as they affect the ware rate of the engine, a very slow process. Even then, you will never know if the engine would have lasted longer with the "superior" oil, as the engine wear is affected by a huge number of other factors. However, you may want to take advantage of the results of the research where these factors are controlled, and the results tell us that the modern oils are superiors over the ones from the 40's. Both for fuel economy and wear. D^2 ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
