IML DIGEST

Hi

I'm a new member and love Imperials and Chrysler products in general.  My Dad was a Chryler/ Plymouth/Imperial dealer for many years.

I don't have an Imperial but would like to acquire one,  I'm finding hat the prices seem to be way beyond the average person...and to buy one that needs restoration is not for me as I don't have the knowledge to do a restoration.

Does anybody have any thoughts on how to find a good..decent shape old Imperial..preferably a convertible....whose price is not in the stratosphere?

Thanks!

Self-Introduction: I have a 1976 New Yorker Brougham, 4 door, (same as 1975
Le Baron) which I have owned since 1978. This is one great road car and
will remain in my possession for quite some time to come. Just gave it a
tune-up and a new cat converter and it tested extremely clean. I am in need
of roof rail and sun roof weatherstripping. I would appreciate hearing from
anyone who has knowledge of these parts and where I can obtain them.

Other cars I own are 1956 Dodge Custom Royal, 1960 Chrysler 300F, 1966
Chrysler 300 Conv.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Howdy all,
While I was able to register my car in the on the
register (I did this about a year ago), I was
wondering why it never showed up on the Imperial
Highway. Are these two items linked together? Or do
you register on both? If so, I didn't see the register
spot for the Imperial Highway.

Hello;
Regarding swap coolers I just went online to a website for Classic Coolers
and their car coolers range from $400.00 something to $500.00 something and
$18.00 to ship. The company is located in Camas, Washington. Check it out as
these units have some neat figures and their web sit is set up nicely.

Listed today in the Phoenix was the selling price of the green Imperial @
$11,600. Certainly more than I would have expected, based on the restoration
quality I saw.

You still buy swamp coolers for VW's, from the aftermarket part/restoration
supply places. You might be able to modify one to fit an Imperial.

If you bouth it Larry, that would give you one of each, a Sedan and a Southampton Four Door Hardtop!

I have only looked at one '60 LeBaron Southampton that was for sale. It was Powdered Bronze. I have also found three LeBaron Southamptons in wrecking yards and all three had been Powdered Bronze, but two of them were repainted white. I have looked at three '60 LeBaron Sedans that were for sale and never found any in wrecking yards. The three that I looked at were Formal Black, Midnight Blue, and the Powdered Bronze one that I bought. I also looked at a nice Executive Gray one in Burbank, California in 1986 which had already been sold ($10,000).

With my knowledge and abilities as far as restorations go, I doubt I could give it justice and it would be a parts veh for me. I would hope someone will buy it with a view to fully restore her. The cost of bringing her home not only costs an arm and a leg but also an eye and two ears. I still have a liking for a 1960 vert though hmmm - I wonder if I could slip that one past my wife?
