anthony, you did not mention the belt. all your belts must be the proper ones and at the proper tension or a whining noise can occur. have you tried turning the steering while the car is not moving and listening under the hood for where the noise is coming from? it is unlikely to have 2 pumps with exactly the same noise problem. dennis, 1953 imp
