psychotic auto parts dealers

This is true. Some years later I drove by this junkyard again. The cars were gone. Locals said they were all crushed by order of the county. I doubt that he ever sold a single piece from that Imperial. What a shame!!

Reminds me of a funny but true story told to me by a club member from AACA. An old car from the twenties had sat under a tree for years on a rural road East of here. Many old car nuts had stopped at the ramshackle house and inquired of the elderly owner, who drove them all off  angrily.  Finally, a club member stopped, knocked and berated the old man for leaving such a pile of junk in his front yard. The owner was astonished-this guy didn't offer to buy it! To shorten my tale, a deal was done and the Pierce Arrow found a new home.  Go figure!!

Well I think too these people think just because they have something old..it's gold. It's a disease alot of people get. They get snapped back into reality when someone trys to deal. After all...once you pass them by who is next? How in demand are some of these parts really? Not very.....reality is that they maybe never will sell one thing off the car again.

Don't know, most of these guys get these cars and parts for a "song" in the first place.  Maybe it's their subconscious payback to the educated/more successful world....  "I got something you want, nyaa-naaa-ne-naa-nyaa", pay up!"   Spoken through green teeth of course.

Am I venting here??  :o|

Been following the thread about Mr. Rosen in the club posts. Met a guy like that in Northern Maine years ago .He had a rare '56 Imp in his wrecking yard. I originally wanted to buy the car complete. However, it was sunk to the frame in mud, and badly rotted, He could not open the engine hood, it was rusted shut-so-I offered to buy all the chrome from the car. He quoted me a price that would have made a second mortgage on my home necessary. I lowered my sights, and offered to buy just the chrome from the trunk, quarters and rear bumper. His response was to angrily order me off the property and he followed me to the gate, haranguing me all the way. As I had my eight year old son with me. I decided to just leave without retort.

I later found out this guy had done hard time in the state prison for murder. Guess I was lucky-could have ended up in the trunk of one of his cars!! Why is it so many of these guys have a bad attitude??? I realize thieves hit them, but there still seems to be an excess of anti-social behavior among these guys.
