Hi Jeff! Thanks for your reply....I am checking into the price for doing just what you suggested..getting everything from Springs&Things. I do not have a tourch but the cut-off wheel will work. I did hear from one member who advised me that the springs from my 4-dr parts car (which are in very good shape though they had been re-arched some time ago) are actually different from the ones for my (heavier) convertible. Rats!!!!thought I could maybe save a few bucks there! I was wondering if you knew what the difference actually was? the IML site info that I could get regarding parts does in fact show a different part # for the conv. from the 4-dr/2-dr model. Do you know if this is because the springs are physically a different size (length-width etc) or maybe they have an extra leaf in the conv. springs? any ideas as to who might know for sure? Thanks again for your help!! I thought that they were very reasonable. I usually torch off the "u-bolts" and front eye bolt, sometimes the shackles come apart easily. Sometimes I use a cutting wheel instead of the torch. "Springs and Things" had all the hardware to complete this job, and I had them send it to me. (I believe that they also sell new rear suspension "lateral links" for the Imperial, with new bushings installed) I don't remember for sure, but I thought that I paid around $300 for new springs, u-bolts, eye-bolts, shackles, and shipping. I was quoted about $500 locally for wholesale on springs alone! The job is actually fairly pleasant to do, if you are using new parts to put it back together.
