Insurance is a subject that could become a very looooong
thread but, here goes. I carry both Regular and Specialty insurance. My daily
driver is with State Farm and has liability, comp and no collision. My other
vehicles are with Grundy (specialty company) and I agree to live with certain
restrictions on usage and mileage. The specialty gives me total coverage at a
very reasonable price and the restrictions generally fit the use of the car. The
biggest advantage is, if I have an accident and get totalled, the insurance
company gives me what I have the vehicle insured for. If you have
AllState, State Farm, Travelers, etc. and have aaan accident it is an entirely
different story. You then get ACV - Actual Cash Value which is less than what
you hoped for. You can counter this by paying more and getting Stated
Value insurance. I priced this for my daily driver and after getting the quote,
I bought a parts car instead. Now I drive my daily driver knowing I can rebuild
if nailed by the inattentive driver and the daily driver is obviously where I
have the most exposure. Eric Marsh
