Brad and others, very correct assessment of how Murphy's law applies to failure. I'd add (at least in my case), anytime that the wife is in the car as my car's never break down when she is not. Anyway, one thing I ALWAYS do when I get a new 'old' car is either replace all the hoses or make dang sure they are in very good shape. and are still flexible but not mushy. Been there, done that, smelled the antifreeze.
