Your car is very early, Clay, so it isn't a surprise.  They must have gotten
complaints from folks trying to figure out the 8 similar switches in the
dark, while driving down the road!

This was an expensive mod, as they had to modify the harness to include the
dash illumination circuit in the door wiring.  Even the cheapest modern cars
(and trucks!) have illumination on these switches, but in 1967, this must
have been a real whiz-bang feature!
