Robin, It sounds like the chrome outer knob that you grab is no longer firmly attached to the lock tumbler guts. The outer chrome part is staked to the inner part in a few places. You can remove the lock mechanism and re-stake the outer part to repair it or find another. As Elijah says, grab the trunk cylinder too if you want to use only one key. You may have to remove the eagle emblem on the trunk lid to remove the cylinder -- can't remember for sure. BTW, the same problem can and does happen to 70-up ignition lock cylinders. Overly aggressive key twisting can cause the chrome key guide to break loose of the ignition lock cylinder. Pete in PA
