comment for restoration

I would restore the car, but by leaving as much of the original parts and finishes as possible. I would replace the rotted interior, original is nice, but once it's so far gone, you're not left with much choice if you want the car to look nice. One thing I found curious was this statement:

"The green paint is original, the weathered interior is original and the details remains as it was, except for tires, battery, fuses, fans, etc which were needed in order to get it to run."

If the green paint is original, looking at the pictures, it sure looks like a brown car to me! ; )

If the original color is green, I would definetly return it to that color. I don't think I've ever seen an OD Green Imperial, though there may have been a few built for WW2, but I expect the historians amongst us would know the real deal. Very interesting and beautiful car, Dedy! I commend you on your interest and effort in saving this fine and historic Imperial!

After you check out the web page on our '54 imp limo, I would like to poll your comments. This car, as you can see on the page, is good looking and straight. In addition, it is all original and historical too. What do you say about replacing the headliner, fabrication, carpeting and repainting it? (they are worn and reeks for long) The replacement fabric will be as close to the original as possible and the new paint will be computer simulated for closest matching with the old one. You think that it is worth it?
