First road trip

Yesterday I had to meet a fellow Imperialist up in San Luis Obispo, California,
to pick up my new swivel seat for my '59 Imperial. The day started out bad with
U-haul not having the pick up truck I reserved two weeks earlier, and also
changing their phone quoted rate from .14 cents per mile to .69 cents per mile.
So I ended up telling them to shove their truck where the sun didn't shine, and
went home and got the Imperial, which I had wanted to take on this trip in the
first place. I must say, this was no short trip, 600 miles altogether, and the
Imperial performed flawlessly! I had another suurprise when I reached the
rodezvous hotel for the seat exchange. The parking lot was loaded with the most
beatiful classic cars I have ever seen all in one place. Turns out it was the
annual meeting of SF, and LA classic car clubs. The seat fit easily into my
trunk, and i could have actually carried two of them if needed! The day which
started out getting me really pissed at U-Haul, turned out to be a magnificent
road trip in my beautiful Imp
erial!
