I've been reading the 413/440 thread with interest. A few years ago I had mine rebuilt, but I've never been completely happy with it (mainly because of low-compression truck pistons and that the machinist bored it .060 over) and would like to start over fresh. So, what would be the ideal setup for a 413 using available parts and fuel? I would like to have an engine with all the snap off the line I've been reading about, as well as good passing performance and torque. I want it to be smooth and to run cool. I'll run premium gas if necessary but I do not want to mess with any octane boosters. I've already got dual exhaust, electronic ignition, high-performance coil and wires, K&N filter, and a brand new AFB carb. Which heads do I want? Cam? Manifold? Pistons? Other goodies? Thanks in advance. John Meyer '65 Crown (Looking for a new steering wheel)
