I don't believe there are any such springs on the 74-78 cars. IIRC the long rectangular bar that goes through the centre mounted motor, fits directly into the door pivot directly with no adjustment facility. The rectangular bar is a torsion bar so it will twist slightly. The motor travels slightly beyond the "open" and "closed" positions so that it holds the doors open or closed with enough pressure to hold them from vibrating etc. I don't pretend to know how to adjust the dorrs in question because I have never seen any good way to adjust them. Like I said though, check that long bar and where it mounts to the motor and the doors. I'm sure the answer will be apparent to you. Please share it with us when you DO see it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kenyon wills" <imperialist60@xxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 11, 2002 5:21 PM Subject: Re: IML: Headlight doors for a 74 My 73 had the similar problems. There are springs that are flat metal wound into a concentric spiral that are on the headlight door-end of the driveshafts that come from the center mounted motor.
