413 over 440, I concur

Greetings Imperialovers!

Zan's Sixty Two Imperial Crown Southampton checking in

thought I'd toss my humble experience in to the commments
about engine sizes.

from my experience with five 1960's mopars (67 imperial, 67
new yorker, 66 fury III, 68 300 and 62 imperial) I find the
413 engine the best sized engine of the bunch.

granted i'm just the kinda guy who likes a nice comfortable
1960's mopar daily driver with minimum of upkeep

i'm not especially mechanically inclined but not scared to
do work when I have some clue (usually via iml) about what
I'm doing, and the 413 seems to fit the bill the best.

it's powerful yet relatively easy for a guy like me to
figure out - a nice thing not to be intimidated by ones
engine, I say.

it's a lovely lovely day here in scenic louisville, ky. my
3 year old girl mariana is going to day school now a 10
mile trip down river road, which is one of the prettiest
drives in town, a two lane tree-covered voyage by the ohio
river.

nothing like the windows down and that giant vista afforded
by the '62s hardtop, pillerless view... and those funky
shaped wing windows kicked out kicking fresh air through
the cabin... aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh... imperialove!

I've not seen the '65 imperial convertable since my last
siting a few weeks ago, I'm thinking they might have sold
it.

so for the record i've seen the following makes of
imperials about town (sadly usually parked and not in their
full glory of movement), a black '55 in midling condition,
a '68 mobile executive edition perpetually under repair, a
fair number of the light colored '64-'66's including at
least two convertables, a '68 black convertable (not seen
recently) and any number of the 70-90's models that I tend
not to pay much attention to.

In a million little pieces in my mopar-freak friend jim
m.'s garage is a '58 imperial which will be PERFECT if it
ever is re-assembled.

so that's the imperial report from louisville
on this sunny and nearly balmy july afternoon

your friend in imperialove
